Resident Engineering Inspection Services for Water Main Replacement at W. 170th Street, Manhattan

JED Engineering has been retained as a sub consultant to provide resident engineering inspection services for this project which covers two main areas: W.183rd Street to W.190th Street from Broadway to Amsterdam Avenue and W.170th Street to W.176th Street from St. Nicholas Avenue to Edgecombe Avenue. Due to the nature of the terrain in the area, these locations fall within the tower pressure gradient of Manhattan. This project will involve a substantial amount of new 12 inch water main to replace existing 6”, 8” and 12” water main pipes and there will also be selective installation of 20 inch water mains. Also included are the installation/relocation of fire hydrants and appurtenant gate valves.

The project also calls for utility work, new traffic signals, street lighting and renovation of curbs, sidewalk and roadway.

Construction Cost: $24.4 million
