NYSDOT – Reconstruction of the Route 17 Interchange at Exit 122, Stage II, –Region 8, Town Of Wallkill, New York

JED Engineering provided construction inspection services for this project. The project involved the relocation and reconfiguration of Route 17 at Exit 122 interchange. The interchange ramp configuration will provide loop and diagonal type ramps connected to a realigned East Main Street and Crystal Run Road. East bound Route 17 was fully reconstructed on new profile. Three new bridge structures and several retaining walls were also constructed. The Route 17 bridge over I-84 was rehabilitated including deck replacement with beam jacking and paint removal involving lead and asbestos. The ramps between I-84 and Route 17 were modified. A variety of Work Zone Traffic Control methods and configurations were used on the project. The project included nights and weekends work.
