JED was retained as a sub-consultant to the Owner’s Representative for the construction of a Ferry Terminal Building located in Glen Cove, New York. Awarded as four prime contracts for General Building, Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing, the project consists of a two- story structure, with exterior curtain wall system with    pre-cast panels, a Kemper roof, metal soffits and multi-colored concrete floors. The project required the development of construction documents, preparation of preliminary cost estimates and bid analysis, review of shop drawings and submittals, preparation of baseline schedules and subsequent updates with emphasis on delay avoidance and claim mitigation, QA/QC inspections and providing technical support throughout all phases of construction.   Other responsibilities include weekly reports to client, document control, payment application review, and change order negotiation. JED’s involvement consisted of providing a Construction Inspector/Office Engineer to complement the Prime’s staff.
